Common questions

How do I get Hogaro?

Hogaro is in an invite-only pilot on Android and isn't in the app stores yet. Sign-up only works for invited testers. An iPhone app is planned.

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot your password?. During the pilot, account emails aren't sent automatically; contact us and we'll pass the reset link to you.

Does Hogaro work offline?

On your phone, yes: after you sign in, you can keep editing your pantry without a connection, and changes sync later. Shopping lists can be read offline, but changing a shared list or pantry membership needs a connection.

How do I share a pantry?

Open the pantry list from the pantry name on the main screen, open a pantry you administer and invite someone by email. They see the invitation after signing in with that email address. Invitations expire after 14 days.

Can other members see my recipes?

No. Recipes and bookmarks stay on your device. Members see the pantry's food and shopping lists, and your display name.

How do I back up my pantry?

In Settings, choose Export pantry backup. You can import it later into a new private pantry.

Is Hogaro available in Spanish?

Not yet. The app is in English for now, and a Spanish version is planned. You can already import recipes written in Spanish from pasted text.

How do I delete my account?

See Delete your Hogaro account.

Are the nutrition values exact?

No. They are approximate reference values per 100 g from public food composition tables. Hogaro doesn't check allergens or tell you whether food is safe to eat.
